The Vancouver Canucks, the NHL affiliate of the Manitoba Moose, announced today they have signed forward Alexandre Bolduc to an NHL contract.

Bolduc, 23, enjoyed a career season in 2007-08 with the Moose. The Montreal, PQ native appeared in 70 games and scored career highs in goals (18), assists (19), and points (37) to finish sixth in team scoring. He also collected 93 penalty minutes and ended up with three powerplay goals, a team-high three shorthanded goals, and a pair of game-winning goals (Jan. 5/08 vs. Rochester & Feb. 12/08 vs. iowa). He was even tied for the team lead in goals before suffering a shoulder injury in March. He was then named the winner of the team's Blue Cross Unsung Hero Award at the end of the season. In six Calder Cup playoff games last year, Bolduc scored one goal in Game 4 (Apr. 25/08) of the North Division Semi-Final versus Syracuse.

Since he played his first game with the Moose on Dec. 14/05 vs. Syracuse, Bolduc has appeared in 131 games with the Moose and in the AHL in three seasons. In that time, he's scored 25 goals and 31 assists for 56 points and 163 penalty minutes including his first career four-point night (2G,2A) Feb. 23/07 @ Rochester. In 11 career playoff games, Bolduc has the lone goal and 14 penalty minutes. In 40 career games with the Bakersfield Condors, Bolduc scored 17 goals and 23 assists for 40 points and 98 penalty minutes.

Bolduc was originally drafted by the St. Louis Blues in the fourth round, 127th overall, in the 2003 NHL Entry Draft.
