CanMedia kicks off The Official CFL Magazine

Now Canadian Football League fans have something more than the game to cheer about. CanMedia is kicking off the nation's newest sports magazine: The Official CFL Magazine, an exciting, informative glossy publication perfectly targeted to fans of the pigskin and, more specifically, the rich Canadian spirit of the CFL. The premiere issue will appear on newsstands in the spring of 2005.
"With the popularity of the CFL on the rise, we are happy to be filling a much needed gap by bringing CFL fans in-depth coverage in the form of a glossy magazine," says Rodney Dietzmann, CanMedia Publisher of The Official CFL Magazine. "The caliber of writers and columnists is superb. This product will rival some of the top sports magazines printed today."
The Official CFL Magazine will feature editorials by journalists and personalities well known to many sports fans, including a back-page column by TSN's Glen Suitor, a front-page column by CBC's Darren Flutie, and a regular column by Corus Radio's ever-colourful Bryan Hall.
The content of the magazine will be both entertaining and educational, with news and reviews from around the League, CFL rules, a look at past heroes, a glimpse at future stars, and a kid's corner dedicated to a growing youth fan base. This will be a family-oriented magazine, targeting all ages of CFL enthusiasts.

The Official CFL Magazine will print 10 issues per year. It is endorsed by the CFL and supported by all of the League's member clubs.
