
Canaries & Stampede Take Home Gold ADDY Awards

Sioux Falls, SD-The Sioux Falls Canaries Baseball Club and Stampede Hockey Club are proud to announce they were both recipients of Gold ADDY'S at the 2014 South Dakota ADDY Awards. A Gold ADDY is recognition of the highest level of creative excellence and is judged to be superior to all other entries in the competition.
The Stampede took home a Gold and Best of Class award in the radio category for their Holiday Party ad, written by Leesa Bendt-Olander and produced by Mark Nelson and Midwest Communications. The ad promotes group and company outings at Stampede games. Click here to listen to the commercial.
The Canaries captured a Gold and Best of Class award in the Integrated Campaigns category for their "Welcome Home" campaign for the 2013 season. The campaign was created by Fresh Produce and was centered around the return of the Canaries name to Sioux Falls after being known as the Pheasants from 2010 to 2012. Both teams have seen a significant increase in attendance over the last two seasons. The Stampede just completed regular season play in which they finished with the best attendance in the USHL for the first time in franchise history, averaging over 4,200 fans per-game. The Canaries set a franchise attendance record in 2013, drawing over 160,000 fans at the Birdcage.
The Stampede are preparing for the Clark Cup Playoffs this weekend at Waterloo and will return home on Thursday, April 17th for Game 3 of their Western Conference Semifinal series at the Sioux Falls Arena. Tickets are available at the Arena Box Office or any Ticketmaster outlet. The Canaries will open the 2014 season at home on Thursday, May 15th versus Sioux City at the Birdcage.
