OTTAWA, ON - Ottawa Fury FC and the Canadian Tire Ottawa Dealers Association today announced a multi-year partnership that will see Canadian Tire become the presenting sponsor of the Fury Fanatics.

Fury Fanatics, a program that provides free season tickets to youth soccer players aged 14 and under from member clubs, has 27 Ottawa/Gatineau clubs registered and 30,000 players enrolled in the program so far.

"Canadian Tire has been aligned with community sports teams and individual players for generations and we are delighted to welcome them to the Fury family," said Fury FC President John Pugh. "The Fanatics program is all about rewarding youth players for their commitment to soccer so it's a great fit for both our organizations."

The partnership also includes the launch of an exclusive in-store "Be-A-Star" contest where kids can win a unique on-field experience at a Fury home match. All Canadian Tire Ottawa locations will feature a life-size cardboard cut-out of Fury Captain Richie Ryan asking young fans to take their picture with him and Tweet it to @OttawaFuryFC with the hashtag #CTFanatics. Each tweet will be entered into draw to carry out the official match ball prior to a home match. Non-twitter users can submit their photos by email at contest@OttawaFuryFC.com.

There's also a grand prize draw for an entire youth team to team join the Fury at TD Place for training on the pitch, an autograph and photo session and a BBQ with the team.

The contest will run June 29 through August 31.

Ottawa Fury FC kick-off the NASL Fall Season at TD Place July 5 against Jacksonville Armada FC. Tickets to this match and all Fall Season matches are available at OttawaFuryFC.com.
