Sussex 8, Brockton 7

After jumping out to leads of 5-0 and 8-2, Sussex held on for an 8-7 victory over Brockton. Maikel Jova powered the Skyhawks offense with three doubles, two runs scored, and four RBI. Sussex starting pitcher Carter Clements scattered 10 hits to allow just two earned runs in five innings for his first win of the season. The Skyhawks bullpen allowed five runs, including one in the top of the ninth, but managed to preserve the win. 1B John Urick hit his second homer of the year for Sussex, a two-run shot in fifth inning.

New Jersey 5, New Hampshire 3

@ Little Falls, NJ. Time: 2:49 Attendance: 2,757

New Jersey overcame an early 3-0 deficit en route to a 5-3 win over the American Defenders of New Hampshire. Jackals starter Ted Serro allowed single runs in the first three innings and then held New Hampshire hitless for the next five frames. He got the win to improve to 3-1 on the season. Closer Rusty Tucker pitched a perfect ninth inning for his seventh save. New Jersey 3B Mike Scanzano led the way offensively as he went 3-for-4 with two RBI. The Jackals win was their eighth straight.

Worcester 6, Quebec 5

@ Worcester, MA. Time: 3:08 Attendance: 2,758

HR: QBC- Greg Stevens (2)

Down 4-0 after an inning of play, Worcester chipped away to tie Quebec 5-5 after five innings and won the game 6-5 on a walk off single by C Alex Trezza in the bottom of the ninth. Trezza finished 3-for-5 in the contest with a double, triple, and three RBI. Eric Gagne, making his second start for Quebec, allowed five earned runs in five innings on seven hits. After Tornadoes starter Ryan Mitchell lasted just 2/3 of an inning Jusef Frias came on and worked 4 1/3 innings and allowed just one run.
