Rox RF Jud Thigpen hit his fourth homer of the season as part of a 2-for-3 performance to carry Brockton past Quebec by a score of 7-3. Thigpen finished with three RBI and scored twice in the contest. Starter Jeff Long went seven innings and struck out five for Brockton while allowing just two runs on four hits. With the win he improved to 2-1 on the year. Quebec's Chris Allen surrendered five earned runs on seven hits in six innings of work and dropped to 1-2 with the loss. DH Eddie Lantigua homered in defeat for the Capitales.

Three New Jersey pitchers turned in strong performances and 2B Marcus Sanders had a big game offensively as the Jackals blanked Worcester 8-0. Starter David Qualben went five innings and struck out five while allowing just two hits. He got the win to improve to 1-2. Kevin Gunter and Mark Suchowiecki tossed the last four innings and allowed just two hits while striking out five more Worcester batters. Sanders doubled twice, drove in two runs, and scored twice in a perfect 3-for-3 night at the plate.

New Hampshire 5, Sussex 2

Sussex starter Justin Knoff dazzled in front of a sellout crowd as he struck out 10 hitters, but three unearned runs helped give the American Defenders of New Hampshire a 5-2 win over the Skyhawks. Isaac Burkett pitched well for the Defenders as he went six innings and allowed just two runs on two hits and four walks. He was the winner and moved his record to 2-1. Closer Juan Padilla struck out two of the three batters he faced in the ninth as he earned his fifth save. CF Edward Ovalle and RF Angel Molina each doubled and combined to drive in three runs for New Hampshire.
