Sussex starter Mike Schellinger got off to a rocky beginning and New Jersey took full advantage. The Jackals used two walks, a hit batter, and four hits to plate six runs in the first inning on their way to a 7-1 win over the Skyhawks. New Jersey SS Mike DeJesus and C Matt Lauderdale each collected two RBI in the game. LF Ryan Rogowski went 3-for-4 and 1B Juan Tejeda chipped in two hits as well. Jackals starter Isaac Pavlik went seven strong innings allowing just one earned run on seven hits. He struck out seven and got the win to improve to 4-1 on the season.

Quebec 7, New Hampshire 2

Quebec DH Pete LaForest hit a three-run homer in the bottom of the seventh inning to snap a 2-2 tie and propel the Capitales to a 7-2 win over the American Defenders of New Hampshire. LaForest finished 2-for-3 with two runs scored and three RBI. Capitales 1B Eddie Lantigua singled home two runs in the third inning to give Quebec an early 2-0 lead and finished 2-for-4 in the contest. Chris Allen turned in a fine pitching performance for Quebec as he allowed two earned runs on six hits in seven innings of work. He evened his record at 3-3 with the victory.

Brockton at Worcester (DH - Postponed/Rain)
@ Worcester, MA.
The doubleheader scheduled between Brockton and Worcester was postponed due to rain. One game will be made up as part of a doubleheader in Brockton on Wednesday, July 8th beginning at 5:30 PM. Since the two teams do not meet again in the first half, the other game will not be made up.
