AirHogs' RHP Sold to Yankees

DURHAM, NC - The American Association of Independent Professional Baseball announced today that the contract of Grand Prairie AirHogs RHP Luke Prihoda was purchased by the New York Yankees. Prihoda will report to Single A Charleston of the South Atlantic League.

Prihoda was 3-1 with a 1.89 ERA and three saves in 21 games. He struck out 27 batters and walked only six in 38 innings pitched and had an opponents' batting average of .212. He was second in the American Association in earned run average. The 24-year-old was a 24th round selection of the Arizona Diamondbacks in 2007.

The Weimar, TX resident becomes the third player sold this week to a major league organization and the eighth overall since the beginning of the 2009 season.
