Sussex 3, Worcester 2 (Series tied 1-1)

The Sussex Skyhawks plated two runs in the bottom of the fifth inning to overcome a 2-1 deficit and defeat the Worcester Tornadoes 3-2. With the win, the Skyhawks even the series up at a game apiece. The game was scoreless until the bottom of the fourth inning when RF Jorge Moreno scored on a sacrifice fly by DH Mario Delgado and giving Sussex a 1-0 advantage. The Tornadoes took a 2-1 lead in the top of the fifth inning on RBI doubles by Player of the Year RF Scott Grimes and LF Chris Colabello. The Skyhawks regained the lead for good in the bottom of the fifth when leadoff hitter Ron Perodin hit a chopper towards short that took a bad hop and went past Worcester's Chuck Jeroloman into leftcenter scoring both LF Alex Frazier and C Yohanny Valera and giving Sussex the 3-2 lead. Skyhawks starting pitcher Justin Knoff was the winner while Matt Petrusek pitched a scoreless ninth to notch his first save of the postseason. The series shifts to Worcester on Friday night with Gary Galvez taking the mound for Sussex while Worcester goes with Junior Guerrero.

Quebec 8, Atlantic City 6 (Quebec leads series 2-0)

After falling behind 6-1 through two and a half innings, the Quebec Capitales roared back with two runs in third inning and four more in the fourth to take a 7-6 lead and went on from there to defeat the Atlantic City Surf 8-6. Quebec now has a 2-0 lead in the best-of-five series and can advance to the Can-Am League Championship Series with a win tomorrow night in Atlantic City. DH Pat Scalabrini was the leader offensively for Quebec going 2-for-3 at the plate with a home run and four RBI. CF Goefrey Tomlinson also had a two-hit game for the Capitales scoring a run and driving in two. Quebec starting pitcher Karl Gelinas picked up the win going six innings giving up six earned runs on 11 hits with four strikeouts. 3B Gil Zayas went 3-for-4 with a home run and two runs scored for the Surf in defeat.
