Trois-Rivieres 4, Quebec 1

Trois-Rivieres starter Jeff Shields (8-7) held the Capitales to one run on three hits in seven innings, and the Aigles scored three in the seventh to win, 4-1. Trois-Rivieres' bullpen followed suit, with RHP Nick Purdy and closer Nick Sarianides allowing just two hits through the final two innings, which culminated in Sarianides' 13th save. The win for Shields is his third in his last four starts.

The Aigles took a 1-0 lead in the top of the second on 2B Josh Colafemina's sacrifice fly to center field, and added to their lead with three runs in the seventh. In that inning, SS David JL Cooper drove in the Aigles' second run with an RBI single and DH Drew Miller added two more with a two-RBI single. Cooper batted 2-for-5 with a run scored, an RBI and a stolen base.

The Capitales scored their lone run in the bottom of the seventh, when 2B Carlos Willoughby brought home C Josue Peley with a sacrifice fly.

New Jersey 11, Newark 7

Despite home runs in the first and third inning, Newark couldn't slow down the Jackals, who won their fourth straight game, 11-7. Trailing 3-0 in the bottom of the third, New Jersey scored four runs in the bottom of the third on an RBI double from SS Jeremy Barnes, a passed ball, and a two-RBI single by 1B Chris Duffy, who finished with a team-high three RBI.

After a two-run fourth that gave the Jackals a 6-3 lead, the team added another four runs in the fifth on a two-run double by C Danny Rams and 2B Gaetano Giunta's two-run homer. Newark scored four more runs in the latter innings but couldn't overcome New Jersey's commanding seven-run lead.

Jackals' LF Brandon Jones and Giunta led their team with three hits apiece. Jones reached base in all five plate appearances, going 3-for-3 with two walks and an RBI. For Newark, leadoff hitter Sean O'Hare batted 3-for-3, including a third-inning homer, with two walks, two runs scored and two RBI.

On the mound, Wes Roemer (2-1) got the win, pitching six innings of four-run ball and striking out six.
