Can-Am League Recaps

August 7, 2013 - Canadian American League (Can-Am) News Release

Trois-Rivieres 2, Quebec 0

Luiz Munoz carried the torch for Trois-Rivieres in a 2-0 win over Quebec. The right-hander did not allow the Capitales to score in eight innings of work. Though Munoz walked four batters, he struck out seven and only surrendered six hits.

The performance by Munoz meant that two runs were plenty for the Aigles. Drew Miller provided those runs in the third inning. His single scored both Steve Brown and Emerson Frostad to give the Aigles the 2-0 lead. Munoz and Nick Sarianides took care of the rest. After the starter worked his magic, Sarianides pitched a scoreless ninth inning to seal the win.

Wichita 15, Rockland 3

Wichita started its offensive onslaught in the fourth and did not look back. The Wingnuts scored in four consecutive innings, highlighted by an eight-run sixth, en route to a 15-3 win over Rockland.

The monster inning included two-run doubles by John Rodriguez and Madison Beard. Coincidentally, those two men had the biggest games for the Wingnuts' offense. Both Rodriguez and Beard went 4-for-6 with three RBI. Beard had a pair of doubles, but Rodriguez did him one better. The DH hit the game's only home run. Aside from Rodriguez and Beard, three other Wichita batters tallied multiple hits, as the team finished with 20.
