Rockland 12, Worcester 3
The Rockland Boulders got hot right away with four runs in the first inning and they held on to beat Worcester 12-3. A trio of Boulders, LF Keith Brachold, 3B Phillip Cuadrado, and 1B Ryan Scoma each had three hits on the night. Cuadrado was 3-for-4 with three RBI and Scoma added two RBI while Brachold scored three times. For Worcester, CF Jerod Edmondson had a nice night going 2-for-5 with two RBI. Not only did the Boulders start strong, they bookended the Tornadoes with a five-run eighth inning to put the game away. P Jonathan Velasquez picked up the win for working five innings and allowing just one run on five hits.
Quebec 11, Newark 3
Quebec Capitales CF Sebastian Boucher knocked home five runs to propel the Capitales over the Newark Bears 11-3. Bouchers blasted a one-out grand slam in the bottom of the third inning to give the Capitales the 5-1 lead. Boucher also singled home SS Jonathan Malo in the fourth and finished the day 2-for-5. Malo scored twice and had two RBI in the game. Quebec DH Rene Leveret led the team in hits as he had three of them against the Bears. P Jeff Duda improved to 9-0 on the year as he allowed just one earned run in seven innings while giving up just three hits.
Gary SouthShore, New Jersey (PPD - Rain)
The GarySouthShore RailCats and the New Jersey Jackals were postponed tonight due to rain. The game will be made up as the first part of a double header Saturday at 4:30 p.m.
