Quebec 9, Rockland 4

The Quebec Capitales blasted five homeruns on their way to beating the Rockland Boulders 9-4. C Patrick D'Aoust had the first home run in the second but things really got started in the top of the fifth when SS Jeff Helps and 3B Jonathan Malo hit back-to-back solo shots. RF James Roche brought two home with a dinger in the sixth and Malo hit his second of the day in the seventh, a two-run shot. Malo was 3-for-5 on the night with 3 runs and 3 RBI. P John Mariotti picked up the win for 6.0 innings of work in which he gave up four runs on three hits.

Worcester 3, Newark 2

The Worcester Tornados edged the Newark Bears 3-2 after taking an early lead. Worcester opened up the game with two runs in the bottom of the first inning with RBI from CF Jerod Edmondson and C Alex Trezza. The Tornados added on another in the third on a double from 3B Johnny Welch. The Bears scored a pair of runs in the fifth with a couple of unearned runs, one on error and the other on a balk. P Brian Parker took the loss for a complete game effort, giving up three runs on six hits. P Ryan Bicondoa struck out two batters over eight innings to earn the win.

New Jersey 8, Grand Prairie 8 (Suspended -- 15 innings)

The New Jersey Jackals and the Grand Prairie played 15 complete innings of level baseball and due to league curfew rules play has been suspended. The game will resume Saturday.
