Rockland 12, Worcester 2
The Rockland Boulders got a complete game from P Bobby Blevins as they dominated the Worcester Tornadoes. Blevins gave up just two runs on five hits while striking out 10 Tornados. Rockland wasted no time getting things going as they jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the first inning on a two-run homerun from LF Keith Brachold. The homerun gives Brachold seven on the season. Brachold finished the game 2-for-4 with a team-high four RBI. Rockland 3B Ryan Mollica had a game-high three hits in five at bats including a homerun. DH Jon Smith also homered for the Boulders. For Worcester, DH Jose Canseco hit his first homerun of the season with a two-run shot in the bottom of the fourth inning.
New Jersey 8, Quebec 7 (11 innings)
The New Jersey Jackals pushed the game to extras with a pair of runs in the top of the ninth and went on to beat the Quebec Capitales 8-7 in 11 innings. DH Matt Cusick led off the top of the 11th inning by drawing a walk. He advanced to third on a single by 1B Steve Caseres and after a walk that loaded the bases, Cusick scored on a sacrifice fly by 2B Gaetano Giunta. That run proved the be the difference as P Keith Cantwell kept the Capitales off the board in the bottom of the frame. Cantwell earned the win for his two innings of work in which he gave up just one hit, no runs and struck out three. Caseras and C Chris Henderson each had three hits for the Jackals and Henderson had a team-high two RBI.
Gary SouthShore 20, Newark 11
The Gary SouthShore RailCats took an old fashioned shootout from the Newark Bear in inter-league play as they won 20-11. The two teams combined for 41 hits in the contest and the RailCats put up three or more runs in five different innings. Gary SouthShore LF Adam Klein racked up four RBI and four runs on a 3-for-5 night at the plate. 3B Rico Washington also had four RBI on three hits in four at bats. For Newarkd both C Billy Alvino and SS Alex Bardeguez picked up four hits in the contest. The win went to Chuck Lukanen for his 2.l innings of relief despite giving up three runs and three hits.
