Quebec 3, Brockton 2 (Quebec wins series 3-0)
Third baseman Ivan Naccarata had three hits and two runs in four at-bats to lead Quebec to a a 3-2 win against Brockton at Campanelli Stadium, and the Capitales earned a spot in the Can-Am League Championship Series which starts Tuesday. Brockton got on the board in the bottom of the first inning, but the Capitales tied the score in the top of the next frame. Quebec scored a run in both the fourth and sixth innings to win its third game of the series against the Rox. Quebec registered eight hits in the game while Brockton had seven. John Mariotti earned the win by allowing six hits and one run in seven innings pitched.
New Jersey 8, Pittsfield 2 (New Jersey leads series 2-0)
Pittsfield jumped to an early 2-0 lead when it scored a pair of runs in the first inning, but New Jersey came on strong late in the game to topple the Colonials 8-2 at Yogi Berra Stadium. Pittsfield got on the board in the first frame when Angel Molina and Johnny Welch each batted in a run, but New Jersey scored a run in the bottom of the first inning and took the lead with two runs in the third. The Jackals scored runs in each of the fifth, seventh and eighth innings, too, to beat the Colonials for the second time in the series. Five different Jackals recorded multiple hits in the game, and New Jersey registered 11 total hits while Pittsfield had just five. A.J. Wideman earned the win by allowing four hits, two runs and striking out two in six innings pitched.
