Nashua starting pitcher Dan Reichart notched a complete game shutout in the first game of the doubleheader, aided by the seven inning format. Reichart allowed four hits and struck out five to pick up his second win of the season. The Pride managed 10 hits in the contest, but the game remained knotted at zero until 1B Billy Becher delivered a 2-out, bases loaded single in the bottom of the seventh, scoring 2B Tom Creighton who found his way aboard with a 1-out single earlier in the inning. Rox starter Robert Averette pitched well, allowing that lone run and scattering 10 hits through 6.2 innings while striking out five in the losing effort.

Nashua would add two runs in the fifth, but in the end the Pride could not overcome the Rox' big inning. Brockton got multi-hit games from SS Eugene Julien, 2B Mike Scanzano and 1B Jason Radwan, who each had two. Brockton starting pitcher Rolando Viera allowed four runs, just two of them earned, on six hits through five innings of work and struck out six to earn his first win of the season and earn Brockton the split. Pride 2B Tom Creighton and CF Sean Dobson each had two hits for Nashua in the loss.

Heading into the bottom of the seventh inning, the Skyhawks needed just three outs to polish off the Tornadoes, who then trailed 6-4, to record their ninth win of the season. But after SS Bob Tewksbary struck out to lead off the inning, Worcester reeled off four-straight singles to plate three runs for a 7-6 come-from-behind win at home. C Onix Mercado led the Tornadoes at the plate, going 3-for-4 with his first home run of the year and two RBIs. Sussex LF Scott Grimes also homered in the game. He finished 1-for-3 with a run scored and an RBI in the losing effort.

W: Chris Zallie (2-0) L: Reid Willett (2-1) S: NONE
HR: NONE
Sussex starting pitcher Chris Zallie tossed a one-hit shutout and struck out eight to give him his second win of the year and to earn Sussex a split in the doubleheader with Worcester on the road. The Skyhawks got back-to-back singles to lead off the fourth inning by 2B Marcos Agramonte and CF Josh Ury, both of whom would later score. Sussex would tack on three more in the fifth to give Zallie all the insurance he would need. Ury and DH Rich Daly both had 2-hit games for the Skyhawks, who out-hit Worcester by eight in the seven inning game. With the split in the doubleheader, both teams remained tied atop the standings with records of 9-5, respectively.
