Worcester 6, Brockton 0
Southpaw Zach Zuercher (pictured) was brilliant Saturday night, striking out 14 Rox while spinning a one-hit shutout in a 6-0 Worcester victory over Brockton. Zuercher improved to 6-2 with a 4.25 ERA on the season and has now tossed 16 consecutive scoreless innings over his last two starts. CF Danny Santiesteban launched two solo home runs for Worcester to lead the offense. From the opposing dugout, 1B Melvin Falu recorded Brockton's only hit with a double to leadoff the second inning, his 15th of the year.
Pittsfield 7, Sussex 4
A five-run seventh propelled Pittsfield to a come-from-behind 7-4 win over Sussex behind two home runs and five RBI from LF Rafael Cabreja. 2B Danny Bomback added a double and a triple for the Colonials, while starting pitcher David Qualben recorded a quality start in surrendering two earned runs in 6.1 innings pitched, keeping the Pittsfield offense in the game. 1B Kris Sanchez launched a double and a home run for Sussex in the losing effort, driving in all four runs for the Skyhawks.
New Jersey 16, Quebec 11
Down two runs entering the bottom of the eighth, New Jersey scored seven times to outlast Quebec in a 16-11 slugfest. The big blow came on a three-run triple from CF Adam Godwin, who finished 3-for-4 with two runs scored and four RBI as the Jackals' leadoff man. SS Mike DeJesus and DH Jacob Butler each added three hits for New Jersey, while LF Kevin Clark drove in five. For Quebec, seven regulars enjoyed multi-hit games in the losing effort, and 3B Michael Thompson reached base five times on three hits and two walks. Lefty reliever Edgar Estanga recorded the final five outs to pick up his third victory of the year for the Jackals.
