New Jersey 4, Brockton 1
Pitcher of the Week Isaac Pavlik threw seven strong innings for New Jersey, surrendering just five hits, walking none, and striking out six batters. Jackals DH Jacob Butler led off the top of the second with his 11th home run of the season, and CF Adam Godwin added an insurance run in the seventh with his first of the season to cap the scoring. In all, Godwin finished 2-for-3 with two runs scored, and was one of four Jackals to enjoy multi-hit games. Rookie Jose Aquino gave the Rox six solid innings in his first professional start, but the offense could put little together against Pavlik. Rox RF Keith Brachold drove in DH Melvin Falu, who had lined a one-out double to left earlier in the inning, to score Brockton's only run in the sixth.
Sussex 12, Worcester 2
The Sussex Skyhawks erased an early 2-0 lead with a six-run third inning and would cruise to an easy 12-2 win over the Worcester Tornadoes. RF Caleb Stewart and CF Vince Blue each had three hits to pace the Sussex offense. LF Kraig Binick also launched his fourth home run of the season in a 1-for-3 outing. Skyhawks starting pitcher Mike Vicaro tossed a solid game en route to his fourth win of the season. Vicaro went six innings allowing two earned runs on just three hits with nine strikeouts. DH Alex Trezza went 2-for-4 with two RBI for Worcester in defeat.
Pittsfield 4, Quebec 2
Pittsfield rolled out to a 3-0 lead after just two innings and would hold on to double up the Quebec Capitales 4-2. With the win, the Colonials have a half game lead over the New Jersey Jackals in the second half standings. 2B Danny Bomback, DH Daniel Carte and CF Quentin Davis each collected two hits to lead Pittsfield offensively. Colonials starting pitcher Jon Venters won his first game of the season going eight innings and allowing two earned runs on only two hits.
