Pittsfield 4, Quebec 0
Pittsfield starter Kyle Zaleski threw eight brilliant innings, and the Colonials cruised to their third consecutive win over Quebec. Zaleski shut out the Capitales, allowing just one hit and one base on balls on his way to his sixth win of the season. Reliever Reymond Cruz gave up just one more hit in a scoreless ninth. Offensively, every starter managed at least one hit for the Colonials, including 2B Danny Bomback, who tallied three and his third home run of the season.
Sussex 2, Worcester 1
Sussex got a sacrifice fly from CF Carl Loadenthal and a solo home run from 1B Kris Sanchez early on, and rode strong pitching to a 2-1 victory over Worcester. After the Skyhawks built a 2-0 lead in the first two frames, Sussex starter Tim Stringer allowed just three hits and no runs in six innings. Three relievers then surrendered just one run over the final three frames, including Jared Locke, who pitched the ninth to earn his first save. Sussex found a way to win despite tallying just three hits.
New Jersey 4, Brockton 2
New Jersey starter Isaac Pavlik and two relievers held the Brockton offense in check, and the Jackals found enough offense to beat the Rox 4-2. Pavlik gave up one run on six hits in 6.2 innings to earn the win and relievers Dan Griffin and Romas Hicks, who earned his 12th save, allowed one run over the final 2.1 innings. New Jersey SS Mike DeJesus hit his first home run of the season in the second inning to give the Jackals a 2-0 lead, and RBIs by 1B Jabe Bergeron and 3B Mike Scanzano expanded the lead.
