The Quebec Capitales blew this one wide open late in the ballgame, turning what had been a close game throughout end in a blowout. The Capitales, leading 3-1, plated a pair in the seventh to stretch the lead and added nine in the eighth to put the contest far out of reach. Quebec starting pitcher Michel Simard had more than enough offensive support. He allowed one run on six hits and fanned seven in eight innings of work to improve to 6-1 on the year. Capitales CF Mike Goss led the way at the plate. He was 2-for-3 with a home run, two runs scored and three RBI.

The Worcester Tornadoes plated the go-ahead run in the ninth inning off Brockton closer Jerry Dunn and starting pitcher Matt Weagle shut the door on a complete game win to keep Worcester within 3.5 games of first place. Weagle allowed three runs, two earned, on seven hits while striking out seven in nine innings to improve to 7-2 on the season. Tornadoes C Alex Trezza did the bulk of the damage at the plate, going 1-for-4 with a home run and a pair of RBI. Brockton 1B Jason Colson drove in all three Rox runs. He was 1-for-3 with a home run in the losing effort.

Atlantic City CF Billy Kovatch delivered a walk-off single in the bottom of the ninth inning to put the Surf in the win column. After 3B Gil Zayas hit a one-out single, Carter McQuigg was sent in as a pinch runner. A walk to the next hitter moved McQuigg into scoring position and Kovatch took care of the rest, lacing a Rusty Tucker pitch into left field, scoring McQuigg. Atlantic City reliever Kyle George picked up the win, running his record to 3-1 on the year. The dramatic finish overshadowed great outings from each starter. Jackals starter Isaac Pavlik allowed one run on five hits and struck out six in eight innings. Surf starter Adam Cox allowed one run on five hits and fanned 11 in eight innings.
