The Brockton Rox hung on late to win a slugfest at home, improving to 4-1 in the process. Five different players homered in the game, including three Rox hitters. Brockton 2B Melvin Falu was one of those three, and led the way at the plate, going 2-for-3 with four RBI. DH Jud Thigpen and RF Matt Maloney each homered as well and each finished the game 1-for-3. Starting pitcher Chris McDonough picked up his first win, allowing five runs, three earned, on five hits in five innings. Rox closer Jerry Dunn held the Skyhawks scoreless in the ninth to record his third save.

The Atlantic City Surf were victorious in a roller coaster ride at home to improve to 3-2 on the season. After the Surf jumping out to a 3-0 lead, the Rapidz scored four runs in the sixth to take a 4-3 lead. In the bottom of that same inning, the Surf plated a run to draw even at 4-4 only to fall behind again when Ottawa scored twice more in the seventh inning. In the home half of the seventh, Atlantic City drew to within one, then scored twice in the eighth to notch the win. Surf DH Eddie Kim led the way offensively, going 3-for-4 with a home run, two runs scored and two RBI. Atlantic City reliever Ryan Rafferty got the win, thanks to two shutout innings.
