RF Mark Burke, 1B Francisco Lebron and DH Ed Gerald, the 3-4-5 hitters in the Grays order, had two hits apiece, but no one else could touch Howell, who gave up just those six hits and walked no one. The Pioneers backed up their starter with a four-run third, highlighted by C Jobu Morita's two-run double. Elmira picked up a fifth run in the fourth thanks to a Das Jesson single and DH Ryan Kenning homered in the seventh to finish off the scoring. Jesson, Kenning and C Onix Mercado had two-hit nights for the Pioneers. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- WORCESTER 14, BROCKTON 0 @ Brockton, Mass. RF Kip Beauregard led the way for the potent Worcester offense, going 3-for-5 with four RBIs. SS Omar Pena and 2B Alex Numez matched his three-hit night and C Dan Reynoso drove in three for the Tornadoes, who put runs on the board in seven of nine innings.
