Quebec 11, Trois-Rivieres 7 - Box Score

Quebec scored four runs in the sixth inning to take a 10-7 lead and would go on from there to outlast Trois-Rivieres by the final of 11-7. This contest was a slugfest as both teams combined for 18 runs on 27 hits, 10 of which were for extra bases.

The Capitales banged out 17 hits of their own and was led by the terrific day at the plate from 1B/2B TJ White. White went 4-for-6 with two home runs, three runs scored and four RBIs. Quebec 3B Jesse Hodges also had a four-hit game with a run and an RBI while DH Stayler Hernandez collected three hits, three runs and an RBI.

Capitales pitcher Reilly Hovis tossed two shutout innings of relief and grabbed his second victory. Hovis (2-0) allowed a hit and three walks while fanning two batters.

For the Aigles in the losing effort, SS Thomas Roulis launched his first home run of the season, a three-run shot in the fifth inning.

Rockland 3, Sussex County 1 - Box Score

Rockland jumped out to an early lead and received a terrific performance from starting pitcher Luis Cedeno as the Boulders downed Sussex County, 3-1.

After 2 ½ scoreless innings of action, Rockland jumped out to a 2-0 in the third thanks to a two-run home run from 2B Richie Fecteau. The score would stay that way until the top of the sixth when the Miners cut the deficit to 2-1 as CF/RF Mikey Reynolds scored on a sacrifice fly from 2B Trey Hair. The Boulders came right back in the bottom half of the inning and plated their final run on an RBI double by C Adam Ehrlich.

Fecteau had a 2-for-4 night with a run scored and two RBIs while Ehrlich contributed a two-hit game and drove in a run.

Cedeno tossed seven solid innings en route to his first victory of the year. The righty gave up an earned run on a hit and struck out 10 batters.

Ottawa 11, New Jersey 8 - Box Score

Designated hitter Eduard Pinto singled home 2B Jiandido Tromp with the go-ahead run in the seventh inning as Ottawa downed New Jersey, 11-8. The Champions had an 8-2 lead through three innings of play before the Jackals plated three runs in the fourth and three more in the sixth to tie the contest up at 8-8.

Ottawa pounded out 12 hits in the contest with four batters having multi-hit games. Champions 3B Malik Collymore led the way going 2-for-4 with two runs scored and three stolen bases. Collymore has now stolen six bases in the last two games and currently leads the league with 41. Along with Collymore, Tromp went 2-for-4 with two runs scored and an RBI while CF Steve Brown scored two runs and drove in two in a 1-for-5 night.

Pitcher Kyle Chavez tossed 1 2/3 innings of scoreless relief to grab the victory for Ottawa. The righty allowed only a hit in the six batters he faced. Chavez is now 1-0 on the year.
