Sussex County 5, Rockland 3 - Box Score

Sussex County scored a pair of runs in the bottom of the eighth inning to break a 3-3 tie and would go on to defeat Rockland by the score of 5-3.

After DH Noah Cummings flew out to right field to lead off the eighth, 2B Trey Hair got the rally started by coming up to the plate and hitting a double. Hair would advance to third on a wild pitch and then come home to score on a single by 1B Audy Ciriaco. With LF Jose Brizuela next at the dish, Ciriaco would steal second base and come to score on a double by Brizuela.

Ciriaco went 2-for-4 with two runs scored and an RBI while Brizuela scored a run and drove in one in a perfect 3-for-3 night. Third baseman Jarred Mederos also helped the Miners offense by collecting a pair of hits and plating a run.

Sussex County pitcher Kevin Grendell got the final two outs in the eighth to grab the victory. Grendell is now 4-2 on the season.

For Rockland in the losing effort, SS John Brontsema had a 3-for-4 night with a run scored and an RBI.

Trois-Rivieres 3, Ottawa 2 (10 Innings) - Box Score

Shortstop Thomas Roulis singled home RF Michael Suchy with the game winning run in the bottom of the 10th inning as Trois-Rivieres defeated Ottawa in a walk-off, 3-2.

With Suchy leading off the 10th at second base, the outfielder would move over to third with one out on a single by 1B Joe Deluca. After Deluca, Roulis came to the plate and collected a base hit to score Suchy and win the ballgame for the Aigles.

Deluca went 2-for-4 with a home run and two RBIs to lead Trois-Rivieres at the plate.

Aigles reliever Garrett Mundell threw two scoreless innings and notched his first victory of the season. Mundell struck out two in the six batters that he faced.

Shortstop Malik Collymore had two hits in four at-bats and a run scored in the loss for the Champions.

Quebec 4, Shikoku Island 3 - Box Score

Catcher Chris Shaw's solo home run in the sixth inning gave Quebec a 4-3 lead and that proved to be the difference in the game as the Capitales went on to win by that same score over Shikoku Island.

Quebec had 11 hits in the contest with three batters having multi-hit games. Shaw went 2-for-4 with a run scored and an RBI while LF David Salgueiro collected two hits in four at-bats and plated a run. Designated hitter Jhalan Jackson also aided the Capitales offense by launching a two-run home run in the first inning.

Starter Arik Sikula gave up three earned runs over six innings of work to grab the win for Quebec. The righty gave up no walks and seven hits and fanned four batters. With the victory, Sikula is now 4-3 on the year.

For Shikoku Island, 2B Hirama Hayato had a 3-for-4 outing and a run scored.

Cuba 6, New Jersey 5 - Box Score

The Cuban National Team won their fourth consecutive contest as they edged past New Jersey by a 6-5 final. Cuba plated three runs in the top of the ninth to take a 6-3 advantage but would have to hold on in the bottom of the inning as the Jackals rallied for two runs and left the bases loaded to end the game.

Right fielder Yoelkis Stevens led the way at the plate for Cuba going 1-for-2 with a pair of walks and a run. Cuba DH Raul Gonzalez had a triple and a run scored while CF Yunieski Larduet and 1B Yordanis Samon each drove in runs.

Cuba pitcher Frank Luis Medina tossed 2 2/3 innings of relief and picked-up the victory. Medina allowed two earned runs on three hits and fanned three batters.

For New Jersey in defeat, 3B Emilio Guerrero went 2-for-5 with a home run, two runs scored and an RBI.
