Trois-Rivieres 9, Sussex County 8
Javier Herrera's three-run home run in the sixth inning gave Trois-Rivieres a 9-5 lead and that proved to the difference in the game as the Aigles held off Sussex County, 9-8. The win by Trois-Rivieres earned them a split in the four-game series with the Miners.
The Aigles collected 16 hits in the contest with every batter in the lineup picking up at least one. Herrera went 2-for-4 with a run scored and four RBIs while Anthony Hermelyn contributed three hits in four at-bats along with two runs and two RBIs. Taylor Brennan and Kevin Cornelius each chipped in a home run as well for Trois-Rivieres.
Aigles starting pitcher Chris Murphy gave up four earned runs over 5 1/3 innings of work and notched his league tying 10th win of the year. Murphy allowed two walks and 10 hits while striking out one.
For Sussex County in the loss, Breland Almadova had a 2-for-4 game with two runs scored and an RBI.
Quebec 6, New Jersey 4 (Game 1 - 7 Innings)
Quebec scored five runs in the fourth inning to overcome a 3-0 deficit and beat New Jersey by the score of 6-4 in game one of a doubleheader.
The Capitales had seven total hits with Maxx Tissenbaum leading the way going 2-for-4 with a run scored and an RBI. Brad Antchak scored a run in a 1-for-2 game while James McOwen launched his 10th home run of the season, a solo shot in the fifth inning.
Quebec starter Karl Gelinas threw five innings and picked-up his eight victory of the season. Gelinas gave up three earned runs on four hits and allowed no walks.
For the Jackals, Nolan Meadows had a 1-for-2 outing with a home run and three RBIs. The blast by Meadows was his ninth of the year.
