New Jersey 7, Ottawa 3

New Jersey raced out to a 3-0 lead after just an inning of play and would cruise from there to a 7-3 victory over Ottawa.

The Jackals collected 11 hits as a team with seven of nine batters picking-up at least one. New Jersey CF David Harris went 1-for-3 with a home run, two runs scored and an RBI while 1B Daniel Canela scored once and drove in two in a 3-for-4 night. Third baseman Seth Spivey also chipped in a home run for the Jackals.

Starting pitcher Mariel Checo tossed 5 1/3 innings and notched his first victory of the season with New Jersey. Checo gave up three earned runs on six hits with a walk and three strikeouts.

For Ottawa in the loss, LF Coco Johnson went 2-for-4 with a run scored.

Trois-Rivieres 9, Rockland 8 (10 Innings)

Catcher Anthony Hermelyn singled home CF Alberth Martinez with the game winning run in the 10th inning as Trois-Rivieres beat Rockland, 9-8.

This contest was a wild one as both teams traded the lead throughout the night. The Boulders jumped out to a 4-0 lead in the first inning thanks to a grand slam from DH Marcus Nidiffer. The Aigles came roaring back with seven runs of their own over the second and third innings to grab a 7-4 advantage. Rockland struck again in the fourth when CF Mike Montville blasted a three-run home run to tie the score up at 7-7. Each team then plated a run to force extra innings where Trois-Rivieres won it on the Hermelyn single.

Martinez went 2-for-5 with three runs scored while Hermelyn and SS Sam Dexter collected a pair of hits and drove in two runs.

Aigles pitcher Shaun Ellis tossed a scoreless 10th inning to notch his first victory. Ellis struck out two batters and walked one in the five batters faced.

For the Boulders, Nidiffer went 3-for-5 with four RBI.

Quebec 8, Sussex County 7 (13 Innings)

Quebec is now 5-0 against Sussex County this season as they defeated the Miners in 13 innings, 8-7. The Capitales scored a pair of runs in the top of the 13th to take an 8-6 lead and would hold off a rally by Sussex County in the bottom frame to collect the win.

After a scoreless first inning, Quebec took a 3-0 lead thanks to a 1B Gerald Bautista sacrifice fly, a bases loaded walk and a wild pitch. The Miners stormed back with four runs in the fourth to grab a 4-3 lead only to see the Capitales tie the contest at 4-4 in the eighth on a RF Nick Van Stratten single. The two teams went into extra innings and traded runs in the 11th and 12th before Quebec plated a pair of runs in the 13th to beat Sussex County.

Van Stratten went 2-for-5 with a run scored and an RBI while Adam Ehrlich scored a pair of runs in a 3-for-6 night.

Quebec pitcher Phil Saad tossed two innings of relief and notched his first victory. Saad allowed an earned run on two hits with a walk.
