Quebec 2, Salina 1
Quebec RF Brad Antchak hit a solo home run in the seventh inning to break a 1-1 tie and lift the Capitales to a 2-1 win over Salina.
The Capitales jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the fourth inning as SS Yordan Manduley launched a solo home run, his first of the season. The Stockade came back to tie the contest at 1-1 in the sixth when SS Robert Garza doubled home 3B Brian Luebcke from second base. The contest would stay that way until Antchak's blast in the seventh that gave Quebec the lead for good.
Quebec starting pitcher Karl Gelinas tossed eight terrific innings to notch his fourth win of the season. Gelinas allowed an earned run on seven hits and struck out four batters.
Rockland 16, Dominican Republic 0
It was all Rockland in this contest as the Boulders shutout the Dominican Republic national team by the score of 16-0. The Boulders banged out 12 hits in the game and scored at least a run in every inning but the second and eighth. Rockland 3B Cody Regis led the way offensively going 3-for-5 with a run scored and four RBI. Boulders RF Conor Bierfeldt collected a pair of hits in four at-bats, scored four times and drove in a run while 1B Mikael Mogues plated two runs and brought in three in a 1-for-2 night.
Rockland starter Ryan Deemes tossed six shutout innings to pick-up the victory. Deemes gave up two walks and two hits to go along with seven strikeouts. The righty is now 3-1 on the season.
Sussex County 5, Ottawa 3
Sussex County scored a pair of runs in the fifth to take a 5-0 lead and that proved to the difference in the game as the Miners defeated Ottawa, 5-3.
The Miners jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the second inning on back-to-back RBI singles by C Luis Alen and DH Nick Zaharion and leadoff hitter Jayce Ray bringing in run by grounding into a double play. Sussex County increased their advantage to 5-0 in the fifth when LF Breland Almadova came home on a single by 1B Audy Ciriaco and Ray stole home.
The Champions cut the deficit to 5-2 in the sixth when 1B Vincent Guglietti launched a two-run home run. Ottawa would add another run in the seventh but that is as close as they would get as Sussex County took the home the victory.
Silva and Almadova had a pair of hits and a run scored in the contest while Andrew Vinson allowed three earned runs over six innings of work to nab his third win of the year.
New Jersey 5, Trois-Rivieres 4
New Jersey collected their fourth consecutive victory as they edged past Trois-Rivieres by a 5-4 final. Shortstop Carlos Triunfel came home on a wild pitch in the seventh inning to give the Jackals a 5-3 lead and that proved to be the difference maker in the contest.
New Jersey had 11 total hits with four players having multi-hit games. Triunfel had a pair of hits in four at-bats and two runs scored while 1B Dean Green had a 3-for-5 game with a home run, two runs scored and an RBI. Third baseman Daniel Canela also chipped in two-run blast in a 2-for-4 night.
Jackals pitcher Nate Gercken tossed 2/3 of an inning of relief and garnered his first win. Gercken gave up two hits and two walks while fanning a hitter.
