Gary SouthShore 3, New Jersey 0 (Completion of Suspended Game from July 21 - 7 Innings/Game 2)

Gary SouthShore gained a split in the doubleheader from yesterday as the RailCats beat the New Jersey Jackals in game two, 3-0. Right fielder Mike Massaro and CF Mike Coles were the offensive stars for Gary SouthShore as they combined to collect four of the team's seven hits and score all three runs. Massaro was 2-for-3 with two runs scored while Coles had two hits and plated a run. RailCats starting pitcher Jon Gulbransen tossed five solid innings en route to his first victory. Gulbransen allowed two hits and two walks while striking out six batters.

Quebec 3, Newark 2

2B Josh Colafemina singled home RF Robert Wagner from second base in the bottom of the ninth inning to give Quebec a 3-2 walk-off win over the Newark Bears. Newark scored two early runs in the game and led 2-0 after two innings. The Capitales would score single runs in the fourth and sixth innings to tie the game at 2-2. The game would stay that way until the ninth when Colafemina singled home Wagner with the game winning run. Wagner had two hits in the game while 1B Rene Leveret went 3-for-4 with a home run, his seventh of the season. Quebec reliever Roque Mercedes was the winner as he pitched a 1-2-3 ninth with two strikeouts.
