Brockton 4, Rockland 3
Brockton's four-run fifth inning provided the runs the Rox needed to take a 4-3 win over the Rockland Boulders. The game remained scoreless after four innings in the book. In the bottom of the fifth, Rox 2B Tucker Nathans batted in C Chris Grossman to give Brockton a 1-0 lead. Brockton SS Alex Sumner then hit an RBI single, and CF Chris Valencia hit a two-run homer to give the Rox a 4-0 lead. In the top of the seventh, Boulders SS Mike Richard hit a two-RBI single. Rockland RF Ryde Rodriguez batted in a run in the ninth, but the Boulders came one run shy of a comeback. Rox starting pitcher Mike Smith earned the win for his two runs allowed on six hits in seven innings pitched. Jake Hale conceded a run in the ninth but still earned the save for Brockton. Grossman and Rox DH Dan Barbero each went 2-for-3 with a run scored in the game.
Quebec 4, Newark 0
The Quebec Capitales scored two runs in the first inning en route to a 4-0 win against the Newark Bears. Quebec LF Robert Wagner got Quebec on the board with a two-run home run in the bottom of the first. Wagner went 3-for-4 in the game with the home run, a double and two RBIs. Capitales DH Ben Gorang hit an RBI double in the bottom of the second to extend Quebec's lead to three runs. Third baseman Seth Henry had an RBI, and 2B Josh Colafemina went 1-for-3 with a run scored. Quebec starting pitcher Karl Gelinas worked 7.1 scoreless innings to earn the win. Gelinas scattered seven hits and fanned seven batters in the game. Bears LF Brandon Watson had two hits in the loss.
