WORCESTER 8, NEW HAVEN 5 (Series tied at 1-1) @ Worcester, MA. Time: 3:12 ATT: 1668 W: Dallas Mahan (1-0) L: Tim Vasquez (0-1) S: David Byard (1) HR: NHC - Orlando Encarnacion 2,(2), WOR - Zach Strong (1), Danilo Reynoso (1), Andy Brown (1) The Tornadoes were able to fight back from a 5-1 New Haven lead, to take game two of the South Division Finals 8-5. Both starters did not figure into the decision. Tornadoes reliever Dallas Mahan got the win, throwing two and a third innings of scoreless ball. Dave Byard picked up the save for Worcester, pitching the final inning, giving up one hit. Reliever Tim Vasquez got the loss for New Haven, allowing three hits and two runs. Former pitcher turned rightfielder Orlando Encarnacion led the Cutters offense, going 2-for-4 at the plate, with two homers and three RBIs in the first multi-homerun game of his career. Tornadoes rightfielder Andy Brown hit his own homerun, going 3-for-4 at the plate with two RBIs, while third baseman Zach Strong drove in three runs and catcher Danilo Reynoso drove in two. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- -- BROCKTON at QUEBEC (Quebec leads series 1-0) @ Quebec City, Quebec. Game two of the North Division Finals was postponed due to rain. The teams will remain in Quebec to play game two on Friday, September 9th at 7:05.
