Published on May 22, 2013 under Canadian American League (Can-Am) News Release

Rockland 6, Trois-Rivieres 2

Trois-Rivieres gave Rockland a ninth inning scare, loading the bases and bringing the tying run to the plate, but Boulders RHP Kevin Fuqua got his club out of trouble to nail down a 6-2 win. The Boulders entered the ninth with a 6-1 lead, but Aigles CF Jon Smith doubled to lead off the inning and came home to score on a ground out by C Emerson Foster. The run cut the Boulders' lead to four runs and Trois-Rivieres continued to threaten. The Aigles loaded the bases with two outs, forcing Rockland to call on Fuqua out of the bullpen. With the tying run at the plate, Fuqua struck out Aigles SS Phil Delisle to end the game and pick up his third save of the season.

Fuqua's save helped RHP Bobby Blevins pick up his second win of the year. Blevins went seven innings and allowed a solitary run on a homer by 2B David JL Cooper. The Boulders' starter gave up just three hits and struck out four in the outing.

On the offensive end, Rockland SS Nick Del Guidice was just a triple shy of the cycle, as he drove in three runs and finished the day at 3-for-3. Del Guidice started doing damage in the second inning, when he knocked in a run with a single. He then doubled in the fourth and hit a two-run home run in the sixth.
