Camp Throws Senators by Ducks

Jackson, MS; August 20, 2003 – The Jackson Senators used a great pitching performance by Rusty Camp (2-1) to beat the Springfield/Ozark Mt. Ducks 5-0 Wednesday night. Camp went the distance, only giving up three hits, while striking out 13 men on the night. Adam Wheeler (2-4) took the loss for the Ducks, as he too threw a complete game, allowing five runs on eight hits in eight innings, while striking out 10 batters. The lower part of the Senators line-up came through, as Travis Oglesby blasted his 12th home run of the season. Oglesby put the Senators on the board in the 2nd inning with a two run shot. On the night he would finish 2-3 with two RBI in addition to scoring a run. Matt Sanchez collected two hits in going 2-4, while scoring two runs and driving in a run. The Senators improved to 27-18 on the half and 58-35 on the season. The Ducks fell to 16-29 and 39-54 on the year.

Next home game: Will take place on Monday, August 25, 2003, as it will be Game one of the 2003 Budweiser CBL Playoffs, with the SaintSations entertaining fans, along with other mascots and cheerleaders from universities from around the State of Mississippi. Derek Nix will be on hand signing autographs and throwing out the first pitch. Game time is set for 7:05 p.m. with the gates opening at 6:00 p.m.
