Camden Riversharks News Release

CAMDEN, NJ. The Camden Riversharks will hold team tryouts at Campbell's Field on Saturday, April 6 beginning at 8 a.m.

Hopeful players are invited to exhibit their skills and abilities under the instruction of the Riversharks coaching staff as they complete various drills and tests. Individuals with outstanding performances will be considered for a spot on Camden's 2013 roster.

In order to participate, players are required to pay a $50 fee and complete a liability waiver prior to commencing open tryout activities. Participants will be provided with a numbered T-shirt upon registration but are required to bring their own equipment in order to compete.

"Open tryouts are an important part of the Camden Riversharks' philosophy," said Adam Lorber, the General Manager of the Camden Riversharks. "There are so many talented players that get overlooked. We are looking for that "˜diamond in the rough' to add to our roster in 2013."

Over the years that the Riversharks have held open tryouts, the team has signed a dozen players out of tryouts. Outfielder Billy Rice, who made the team last April, now plays for the Chicago White Sox organization.
