Camden Riversharks Announce 2009 Season Schedule

CAMDEN, NJ- Today the Camden Riversharks released their 2009 season schedule revealing that the Riversharks home opener at Campbell's Field will be on Friday May 1st against the Southern Maryland Blue Crabs. The festivities begin at 6:00pm and will conclude with post game fireworks.

Camden will feature 70 home games playing 10 games against each of the seven other Atlantic League teams: the Newark (N.J.) Bears, York (P.A.) Revolution, Somerset (N.J.) Patriots, Long Island (N.Y.) Ducks, Bridgeport (Conn.) Bluefish, Southern Maryland Blue Crabs and Lancaster (P.A.) Barnstormers.

Fireworks will be on display during all Friday home games this season as well as all Saturday games during July and August. The full promotional schedule will be released by the first of the new year.

The Riversharks have also announced that individual ticket prices and season plans will remain the same. "We take pride in providing affordable family entertainment to South Jersey" said General Manager Adam Lorber. "Without the fans, we would not have a team on the field and in hard economic times, it is important we act accordingly."

Sixteen fireworks nights are planned this summer in addition to a variety of other theme and group promotions.

Camden finished last season at the top of the Liberty Division, defeated by the Somerset Patriots in the championship series. The 'Sharks will open the season on April 23rd on the road in Somerset.
