Camden Drops Home Series To Bridgeport

(August 15, 2010- CAMDEN, NJ) The Camden Riversharks dropped the third game of the series and went scoreless this afternoon. Matt Pike of Bridgeport was awarded the win, while Mike Madsen was charged with the loss.

The Bridgeport Bluefish scored one run in four different innings. In the top of the third, Tim Johnson was hit by a Mike Madsen pitch and was given a free pass to first. Adam Greenberg followed hitting a sacrifice bunt which moved Johnson to second. He then advanced to third on a wild pitch and was driven in by Danny Putnam on a single base hit.

Joe Jiannetti was given a free pass to first to lead off the fourth inning. Jiannetti advanced on the sacrifice hit to Riversharks pitcher. Johnson hit an RBI single to score Jiannetti, giving Bridgeport a two run lead.

Putnam reached safely on a dropped third strike and stole second. Moss was the next batter to the plate. He hit the ball into left field where Estee Harris missed the catch, allowing Putman to come home on the play.

The Bluefish secured their lead after scoring five runs in the eighth. Jiannetti hit a solo home run over the left field wall to lead off the frame. Brandon Chaves was next to rip a double into right field over Richie Robnett's head. Greenberg loaded the bases after he was hit by a pitch from relief pitcher Gabriel Alfaro. Two batters later Putnam flied out to right, allowing Chaves to score. Luis Lopez knocked a three run homer over the left field wall, making it an 8-0 lead for the visiting Bluefish.

One more run was added in the ninth for Bridgeport to close the game.
