
Callahan Homers in Thunder Loss

A home run in the top of the fourth inning by Thunder slugger Tonya Callahan was the only hit of the night for the Thunder (11-14), while Washington Glory (19-10) shortstop Amber Jackson had three RBIs to help her team take game one of the series.
League wins leader Sarah Pauly had one of her best performances of the season on Thursday, allowing just the home run to Callahan, while striking out seven Thunder hitters in six innings. Serena Settlemier (1-5) took the loss for Rockford, allowing five runs over six innings. Cassidy Scoggins pitched one inning of relief for the Thunder, striking out two Glory batters in one inning off the mound.
The two teams will meet again Friday night in Chantilly at 6:30 pm Central time. Allison Kime (4-3, 3.14 ERA) is set to take the mound for the Thunder against Washington's Desiree Serrano (7-4, 2.46 ERA).
