Calder Cup Finals to Open Friday at Scope as Admirals Battle Toronto

NORFOLK, Va. - The Norfolk Admirals will open the 2012 Calder Cup Finals on Friday night, June 1st, at Norfolk Scope Arena, as they begin the best-of-seven championship series against the Toronto Marlies.

Tickets for Game 1 and Game 2 are now on sale through Ticketmaster online or by telephone. You can charge-by-phone at 1-800-745-3000 or go online to ticketmaster.com. Tickets are also available at the Scope Box Office during regular business hours. The Scope Box Office is currently closed for the Memorial Day Holiday and will re-open at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, May 29th. The Scope Box Office is open next week from Tuesday through Saturday from 10:00 a.m. through 5:30 p.m. On Friday and Saturday, June 1st and 2nd, the Box Office is open from 10:00 a.m. through game time.

Individual ticket prices for Calder Cup Finals games at Scope are $25.50 for Gold Level, $22.50 for Red Level and $20.50 for White Level. Fans receive a discount when purchasing tickets in advance of the day of the game, with $22 Gold tickets, $19 Red tickets and $17 White tickets. In addition, a limited number of 10-seat corporate boxes are available for $350 per game by contacting the Admirals at (757) 640-1212.

Playoff package holders should use tickets labeled "Game L" for the game on Friday, June 1st, and should use tickets labeled "Game M" for the game on Saturday, June 2nd.

The Admirals, AHL affiliates of the Tampa Bay Lightning, earned the Richard F. Canning Trophy as American Hockey League (AHL) Eastern Conference Champions last Tuesday after defeating the St. John's IceCaps in four games in the Eastern Conference Finals. Prior to meeting the IceCaps, the Admirals defeated the Connecticut Whale in six games during their Eastern Conference Semifinals series and defeated the Manchester Monarchs in four games in their Eastern Conference Quarterfinals series.

Norfolk is the #1 seed in the Eastern Conference after finishing the 2011-12 regular season with a league-best 55-18-1-2 record for 113 points, winning the Macgregor Kilpatrick Trophy as regular season points champions and the Frank Mathers Trophy as East Division regular season champions.

The Marlies, AHL affiliates of the Toronto Maple Leafs, earned the Robert W. Clarke Trophy as the AHL's Western Conference Champions tonight after defeating the Oklahoma City Barons in five games in the Western Conference Finals. Prior to meeting the Barons, the Marlies defeated the Abbotsford Heat in five games during their Western Conference Semifinals series and defeated the Rochester Americans in three games in their Western Conference Quarterfinals series.

Toronto is the #2 seed in the Western Conference after finishing the 2011-12 regular season with a 44-24-5-3 record for 96 points, winning the Sam Pollock Trophy as North Division regular season champions. The Admirals have never met the Marlies in regular season or post-season play.
