Buzz to Play Home Games in the OC

January 5, 2006 - American Basketball Association (ABA)
Maywood Buzz News Release

Orange County, CA - General Manager/Head Coach Burrel Lee III announced yesterday that the Orange County Buzz will play the remainder of the 2005-2006 season in the Orange County Area. "Long Beach City College welcomed us with open arms and we like to thank them, but playing in Long Beach was not fair to our fans and to Orange County. Playing away from home was hard but we are now coming back to finish the season where we belong in OC" stated Lee.

"We are currently working on a small tour of Orange County, playing at local High Schools, YMCA's and Recreation Centers. One thing I noticed in OC is that the High Schools, Recreation Centers and YMCA's can hold many people and a perfect fit for what the Buzz wanna do and that's bring affordable, high scoring, fast paced basketball to the area" Lee added.

The Buzz will begin it's tour hosting the Gallup Talons Saturday, January 7th, 2006 at the South Coast YMCA located at 29831 Crown Valley Parkway in Laguna Niguel, CA, with tip-off slated for 7:35pm.

The Buzz will continue their tour Monday, January 9th vs the Los Angeles Aftershock and Orange County Native El Toro High School Grad, and former WNBA player, 5'11 Giuliana Mendiola, the first woman to play in the ABA.

The Buzz have players such as OC Native and former Mater Dei High School Star 5'10 Guard, Kamran Sufi who is averaging 15.3apg & former California JC Player of The Year 6'6 Guard Lamar Gayle who is averaging 41.5ppg.
