Published on January 5, 2006 under American Basketball Association (ABA) News Release

Montreal, Canada. The ABA Montreal Matrix announced the signing of Dwight Walton. Born in Montreal, in the borough of Notre-Dame-de-Grace, Walton played on the Canadian National Team at the World University Games and the Pan American Games in 1987. He also helped Team Canada to a sixth-place finish at the 1988 Olympic Games in Seoul, Korea and particiapted in the FIBA World Championship in 1990 and 1994.

Considered by many to be a "freak of nature," Walton, who just turned 40, believes he can still be a contributor to the team. "I will try to help the Matrix as much as I can by providing veteran leadership and game experience both on and off the court," Walton said.

The 6'6" forward was a three-time All American at Florida Tech and is now a member of the school's Hall of Fame. Walton also played in the USBL, CBA and for several professional teams overseas. The Matrix wrap up a four-game homestand at the Pierre-Charbonneau Centre this Friday, Jan 6 at 7pm versus the Strong Island Sound of Long Island.
