Buzz Release 2007/2008 Regular Season Schedule
September 6, 2007 - American Basketball Association (ABA)
Maywood Buzz News Release
Maywood, CA. Maywood GM Burrel Lee III has announced the release of the ABA Maywood Buzz' 2007/2008 regular season schedule. The schedule will take the Buzz to three different states and also play two of the ABA's Final Four teams from the 2007 playoffs. The Buzz will open the season on the road November 8th as they return to where the Buzz started, Orange County. They will do battle with former player and current OC Gladiator Assistant Coach/Player Tony Farmer. Two days later, the Buzz travel across the Pacific Ocean to Hawaii to play two games vs the Hawaii Hurricanes. Then one more road game at Sacramento to play the Heatwave.
And then the fun begins...The Buzz opens its home schedule vs the San Diego Wildcats, Friday, November 23rd at 735pm and all tickets for this game are only $3 (including courtside). And then they play 2007 semi-finalist, the Beijing Aoshen Olympian who will be without PG Sue Yun, who is now with the Los Angeles Lakers. After the two game homestand, it is back on the road to play the Wildcats and the Aoshen Olympians at home.
In December, the Buzz will travel 20 minutes down the 710 freeway and do battle with its crosstown rival, the Long Beach Breakers and 2007 Maywood Buzz co-MVP, Terrell Hendricks.
The Buzz will then bring in the New Year, and yes, you guessed it, on the road. But this road trip isn't just any road trip. This one takes the Buzz to Texas to play the Houston Takers (Dec 31), the West Texas Whirlwinds (Jan 2) and the 2007 Runner-Up Texas Tycoons, who just signed former Buzz player Ty Thomas. "I have a ton of family in the Dallas/DeSoto areas of Texas," stated Lee. "This is a great chance to play the best and in front of my relatives."
January and February will be two great months for the Buzz who will play 11 of 18 games in the Home confines of the Maywood Activity Center. On Monday, Jan 14th, the Buzz will host its Dr. Martin Luther King Day Classic where the Buzz will take on the Long Beach Breakers and there will also be three high school games played at the Maywood Activity Center before the Buzz game that day.
