Saint John Riptide News Release
Manchester, New Hampshire: The Manchester Millrats of the American Basketball Association (ABA) have announced a strategic partnership with The SportsZone Athletic Complex in Derry, New Hampshire.
The SportsZone is a 95,000 square foot, fully air-conditioned indoor sports complex. It is one of the finest indoor sports facilities in the Northeast, and is committed to providing family fun, exercise, and recreation - values shared by the Millrats organization. Inside the facility they boast three hardwood courts used exclusively for basketball and volleyball, a 185' x 85' indoor SafePlay turf field and a 170' x 80' granular rubber turf field for soccer, field hockey, lacrosse, whiffleball, bocce, softball, ultimate disc, flag football leagues, clinics, camps, trade shows, and dog shows, and a 180' by 90' Mate-Flex cushioned multi sport-court, which can also be used for the same sports plus basketball, volleyball, and table tennis. The SportsZone is also known to host parties, family gatherings, and business functions. They offer Vertimax jump training, basketball lessons, parties, and lock-ins.
The SportsZone is committed to hosting the Millrats tryout camps, training camp, and team practices. A Manchester Millrats scrimmage is being planned for the month of October at the facility.
"We are excited because the SportsZone is New Hampshire's premiere basketball/sports facility, and we are thrilled that they saw the value in being affiliated with a professional basketball team," stated Millrats Director of Media Relations, Steven Yankopoulos.
The Millrats inaugural season home opener is scheduled for Sunday November 11 at 4:35 p.m. versus the Boston United Eagles at the Fieldhouse on the campus of Southern New Hampshire University (SNHU). On Saturday September 22nd they are holding an Open Tryout Camp at 12:00 noon at the SportsZone in Derry, New Hampshire.
