June 29, 2005 - American Basketball Association (ABA)
Maywood Buzz News Release

Orange County, CA. "The Buzz is back!" Your Orange County Buzz are off and running where they left off in the 2004-2005 season. Led by former NBA All-Star Cedric Ceballos and Buzz forward Tyrone Merriwhether, the Buzz are heading to Los Mochais, Mexico in July for a summer of fun and basketball. While there, the team will be playing two games and will be holding clinics for the local youth to promove the game of basketball and the ABA.

Last season the Buzz hosted a game at Camp Pendleton Marine Base to give back to the families of the brave men and women who serve our nation in the armed forces. In keeping with the tradition of giving back to the community, Head Coach/GM Burrel Lee III said, "The Orange County Buzz prides itself in giving back to the community, promoting the game of basketball and the ABA. Getting the opportunity to visit the wonderful people of Mexico is a treat!"

The team will be going to Mexico July 14-17. Check the website for the exact dates of games to be announced shortly. Also, please keep an eye out for the Buzz this summer throughout the Southern California area for clinics, team tryouts and other team related events. For information on tickets or sponsorships for the upcoming season which begins in November, contact the Orange County Buzz at info@ocbuzz.net or visit http://www.ocbuzz.net or www.abalive.com.

Note: OurSports Central no longer actively covers the American Basketball Association (ABA) as a professional league due in part to its inability to publish and play a schedule and the transitory nature of many of its teams. For information on professional minor leagues, please see OSC's basketball section.
