Burkholder Earns National Lacrosse League Rookie of the Month Honors

Philadelphia Wings forward Andrew Burkholder was named the NLL's February Rookie of the Month. Burkholder was chosen in a vote by the General Managers of the league's ten clubs for his role in helping the Wings to a 3-2 record in the month of February.

"I'm pleased that Andrew was recognized for his accomplishments last month," said Wings General Manager and Head Coach Lindsay Sanderson. "He was a great acquisition for us this season and is becoming a consistent contributor to this team."

Burkholder captured two consecutive Rookie of the Week award during the month of February. The first for his four points (2G, 2A) and four loose balls in the Wings win over the Buffalo Bandits on Friday, February 25 and the second for his four-goal game against the Minnesota Swarm on Sunday, February 20.

Burkholder has 14 points (9G, 8A) in six games for the Wings this season. Burkholder was acquired by the Wings in a trade with the Toronto Rock on December 3, 2004.

The Wings return to action against the Rochester Knighthawks on Saturday, March 12 at the Wachovia Center at 8 p.m.
