Forward and former Amarillo Bulls' tender Jasen Fernsler has six assists and six points, while Willie Brown and Cam Strong each have three goals.
WHAT'S AT STAKE: It's getting down to crunch time for the Amarillo Bulls in search of the sixth and final playoff spot in the South Division. The Bulls trail the Rio Grande Valley Killer Bees by eight points for sixth place, while the Wenatchee Wild are nine points back. The race for first place in the South is still wide open as the Topeka RoadRunners have a narrow two point lead over the Lone Star Brahmas. Each team has nine games remaining. Meantime, the Wichita Falls Wildcats are five points back of first place.
BULLS NOTES: The Bulls finished the month of February with a mark of 2-4-1, but began March in fine fashion with their third come-from-behind win when trailing after 40 minutes and their eighth one goal game of the season. Two wins separate the Bulls from equaling their first year total of 16 victories on home ice. Forward Charlie Combs has eight goals in his last five games and a total of 12 points. Luke Novak and Will Harrison have five points combined in last five games with all of them coming via special teams. Nine of Anton Martinson's 12 wins have occurred at home.
TOPEKA TIPS: The Topeka Road Runners have not lost more than four games in a month and in October and December didn't lose a game. Balance has been a big part of Topeka's success with six players having more than 30 points. Goaltender Drew Vogler has posted four wins in his last 10 games and a goals against average of 2.63. Forwards Daniel Rzavsky and Mike Gornall have combined for 17 goals away from home. Topeka is ranked in the Top 7 in goals for & goals against as well as shots for and shots against.
ACROSS THE SOUTH: Plenty of action this weekend in the South Division, as the Wenatchee Wild visit the Wichita Falls Wildcats for a pair of games at Kay Yeager Coliseum. The Rio Grande Valley Killer Bees take on the Odessa Jackalopes at Ector County Coliseum, while the Lone Star Brahmas entertain the Corpus Christi IceRays.
