BULLS NEXT AT HOME: The Amarillo Bulls are back at home next Friday, Feb. 8 and Saturday, Feb. 9 when they host the Lone Star Brahmas, in the return of the Battle Of The Cattle Series, at 7 pm. Friday - Retro Night Presented by CanTex Roofing and Panhandle Tickets. It's also the return of the Family-Four-Pack and Bring-A-Bud Pack. Saturday - First Responders Night Co-Presented by AMS. First Responders get free tickets, while family members can get a discounted rate of $8.

THE SERIES: It's the fifth and sixth meetings of the season between the Amarillo Bulls and the Odessa Jackalopes. The Bulls have posted a mark of 2-1-1-0 in the first four match-ups, including a win and a loss at home as well as a win and an overtime loss on the road. After this weekend, the two teams still need to face one another a total of six times.

WEEKEND REWIND: It was a sweep of six points for the Amarillo Bulls against the Corpus Christi IceRays this past weekend at American Bank Center. The Bulls surrendered just two goals in three games after 4-0, 3-1 and 5-1 triumphs. The Odessa Jackalopes split with the Lone Star Brahmas on home ice winning 7-0 and losing 3-1.

ACROSS THE SOUTH-WHAT'S AT STAKE: All South Division teams are in action this weekend. The Lone Star Brahmas visit the Shreveport Mudbugs tonight for the first of three at George's Pond Hirsch Coliseum. The two teams are separated by just two points for second place and home ice in the South Division standings. The Corpus Christi IceRays and the Topeka Pilots begin their two week pilgrimage to Alaska for a set of return games versus the Fairbanks IceDogs and the Kenai River Brown Bears. The IceRays start with two versus the IceDogs, while the Topeka visits the Brown Bears. Corpus Christi and Topeka are separated by just one point for the fourth and final playoff spot.

BULLS STATS ETC: Forward Logan Jenuwine trails Johnstown's Samuel Solensky by just one point for the league's scoring lead. Solensky has 42 assists which is tops in the league, while Jenuwine has 35 goals to lead in that category. Goaltender Jason Grande is tied with Matt Vernon for shutouts with five. Defenseman Brenden Datema and Nick Anderson are one and two respectively, in that category's scoring race. The Bulls are second in goals for (4.23) and goals against (2.23) while leading the way in shots for per game with nearly 39.
