Bulls Routed 11-4 At Gwinnett

(Lawrenceville, GA) Leslie Anderson's fifth inning single helped the Bulls tie the game at three, but Gwinnett scored eight unanswered runs en route to an 11-4 win over Durham on Thursday night. With the loss, Durham holds at 83 wins, which ties the team's Triple-A record.
Down 3-0 after three innings, Durham rallied with three two-out runs, one in the fourth on a Fernando Perez double, and two in the fifth. Dioner Navarro singled in one run, and Anderson followed with his third hit of the game off reliever Vladimir Nunez (1-1), a base hit to center.
Gwinnett answered with four in the fifth to chase Brian Baker (8-5). A leadoff error allowed Matt Young to reach, and he promptly stole second. Freddie Freeman followed with his team-high 18th homer to the right of the batter's eye for a 5-3 advantage. Gwinnett never looked back, scoring four in the fifth and four more in the sixth for an 11-3 lead.
Navarro had his second two-out hit in the ninth for the game's final run. Anderson had three hits, while Navarro, Perez and Desmond Jennings had two of Durham's 11 hits on the night.
Gwinnett meanwhile had 17 hits off four Bulls pitchers. Position player Angel Chavez pitched the eighth. Durham committed a season-high six errors leading to five unearned runs. The Bulls were playing their 13th road game in the last 14 days, and were in the fifth different city in the last 12 days.
The Bulls will look to bounce back on Friday with LHP Bobby Livingston on the mound for Durham. Coverage on 620 the Buzz begins at 6:50 with first pitch at 7:05.
