Bulls Rout Rochester Behing Joyce 13-2

(Rochester, NY) Matt Joyce had three doubles and six RBI, as the Bulls won13-2 on Wednesday over Rochester.

After Mitch Talbot (4-4) got out of a bases-loaded none-out jam in the second inning, Durham took the lead for good in the third on Joyce's first double, a two-run two-out double to right over David Winfree's head.

Durham added to its lead in the fourth on a Brandon Chaves single that scored Craig Albernaz from third after Albernaz's one-out triple.

After Rochester scored its only two runs in the bottom of the fourth against Talbot, the Bulls answered with two more on a double in the fifth by Joyce that went over the first base bag.

Leading 5-2 in the sixth, Durham blew it open with four more runs, the last three on Joyce's final double with the bases loaded. Durham then closed the scoring with four in the eighth. The game was delayed for more than an hour by rain in the ninth with the Bulls leading 13-2 before the final frame was completed.

The Bulls collected a season-high 17 hits, including four from Chaves in his second Triple-A game. Durham now is 29-17, and 5-2 on an eight-game road trip. The finale of the trip is Thursday morning at 11:05 a.m. Coverage on 99.9 the Fan's HD2 begins at 10:45 a.m. Matt DeSalvo will start in his Bulls debut.
