Amarillo Bulls News Release
AMARILLO, TX -- It was not only a successful night on the ice for the Amarillo Bulls on Friday in their 1-0 victory over Texas, but it was also a great night off the ice.
The Bulls were wearing their holiday jerseys and had their first jersey auction of the season in The Corral. A large crowd was on hand to witness the event and fans bid on their favorite player jerseys, The auction raised approximately $3,800 for Amarillo Youth Hockey.
Fans had to wait nearly 50 minutes of the game before they had a chance to throw Teddy Bears and Stuffed Animals onto the ice. Cody Freeman scored the lone Bulls' goal of the game, and fans showered the ice with the toys that were collected for charity. Approximately 1,000 items were picked up.
The Amarillo Bulls return to action on Wednesday, Dec. 29 when they host the Wichita Falls Wildcats at 7 pm. It's Amarillo Hockey Legacy Night and some former members of the Amarillo Wranglers, Rattlers and Gorillas will be on hand.
