
Bulls Opening Weekend Launches Tomorrow

THE MATCH-UP: Odessa Jackalopes vs. Amarillo Bulls
LOCATION: Budweiser Bull Pen in the Amarillo Civic Center
GAME DATES: Friday, Sept. 27 and Saturday, Sept. 28. Face-off is at 7 pm, both nights.
BROADCAST INFO: Games to air on CBS Sports Radio 1440, www.amarillobulls.com and on PPV courtesy of Fast Hockey. Coverage begins with the Wayland Baptist University Warm Up Show at 6:45 pm. Denis J. Puska has the play-by-play call at 7 pm.
THE PROMOTIONS: Friday - $1 hotdogs and $1 sodas and the first 500 fans receive magnet schedules. Saturday - Championship Celebration Night, so come see the first banner raising ceremony in 38 years. Fans are invited to set up their own tailgate in the northeast parking lot behind the Civic Center. The best tailgate set up will win a prize.
TICKET INFO: Tickets are available at the Bulls Office located at 301 South Polk, Civic Center Box Office and all Panhandle Ticket Outlets, including United Supermarkets. HOME OPENER HISTORY: This is the four opening weekend in the history of the Amarillo Bulls in the North American Hockey League. In opening weekend games, the Bulls have posted a mark of 3-1.
THE SERIES: This is the 22nd all-time meeting between the Amarillo Bulls and the Odessa Jackalopes. The Bulls are unbeaten in this regular season rivalry with a mark of 21-0-0. The two teams have met during the 2012 NAHL Playoffs where the Bulls beat the Jackalopes 3-1, and Odessa notched their first win ever against Amarillo.
BULLS BY THE NUMBERS: This is the 183rd regular season game in the history of the Amarillo Bulls hockey team. In three previous seasons, the Bulls have posted a regular season mark of 128-30-20. On home ice during the regular season at the Budweiser Bull Pen in the Amarillo Civic Center, the Bulls have a record of 64-16-9, including a new Amarillo hockey history mark of 24-2-4 last season.
LINE-UP RETURNS NINE: As the Amarillo Bulls hit the ice for their fourth home opening weekend, they return nine players from a season ago. Returning players include two goaltenders, two defenseman and five forwards.
NEW FACE TO HIT THE ICE: The Amarillo Bulls welcome forward Cody Gylling to the line-up tonight after acquiring him from the Johnstown Tomahawks in exchange for Omar Mullan. Gylling, a native of Chandler Arizona, was the Tomahawks leading goal scorer last season.
