Amarillo Bulls News Release
CORPUS CHRISTI, TX - The Amarillo Bulls look to close out a tough month on a positive note when they take on the Corpus Christi Ice Rays tonight (Saturday) at 7:45 pm at American Bank Center in Corpus Christi, Texas.
The game is starting 45 minutes later due to a women's college basketball game at the facility earlier in the day.
The Bulls are just 3-5-1 in January and will post their first losing record for a month, following four straight winning marks.
A late goal in the final 20 minutes proved to be the undoing for the Bulls for a second straight game as they fell 3-2 to the IceRays on Friday night. TJ Sarcona had both Bulls' goals in the contest. Amarillo's Nikifor Szczerba and Corpus Christi's Phoenix Copley were solid for their respective teams in goal.
A win tonight would be the Bulls 25th of the season, and with some help could move back into a tie for second place in the South Division standings with the Texas Tornado who are up in Wenatchee this weekend. The Tornado was victorious 4-3 in a shootout late Friday to vault over the Bulls into second place coming into tonight's play.
Fans can tune into tonight's game live on ESPN1440 and www.amarillobulls.com, beginning with The Bulls Warm Up Show Presented By Wayland Baptist University at 7:30 pm. Denis J. Puska brings you all of the exciting, hard-hitting action at 7:45 pm. The game is also available on Pay Per View courtesy of Fast Hockey and a high speed internet connection is required in order to view the game.
Hockey is back at the Bull Pen in the Amarillo Civic Center next weekend when the Bulls host the New Mexico Mustangs on Friday and Saturday at 7 pm. Saturday's game is sponsored by Suddenlink and fans who come early will receive Thundersticks. Tickets are available at all Panhandle Ticket Outlets including United Supermarkets, Civic Center Box Office or online at www.amarillobulls.com.
